About Minister Jean

Brian Jean was appointed Minister of Energy and Minerals in 2023, following his role as Minister of Jobs, Economy, and Northern Development. He previously served as a Member of Parliament (2004-2014) and Parliamentary Secretary to several Transport Ministers. Before entering politics, Jean practiced law for 11 years as a partner.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Science, and an MBA. First elected to the Alberta Legislature in 2015, he currently represents Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche
