The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority has come up with a “purr“-ty good campaign to discourage mass transit riders from hogging seats via manspreading. They’ve debuted a new ad campaign that uses cute animals GIFs to remind riders to practice good manners. “Only Take the Seats You Need“ reads the bureau’s anti-manspreading advertisement, which shows a cat stretched out along the width of a chair. Passengers are also reminded not to hog space with bulky backpacks with a pic of a dog carrying a puppy on its back in a knapsack, which is captioned, “Remove Your Backpack.“ “I’m hopeful that it’s amusing enough that it does catch people’s eye,” MBTA general manager Steve Poftak tells CBS Boston.
